Assassins Creed Odyssey tells the fictional story of the Peloponnesian War between Sparta and Athens. This action RPG is set in 431 BC and puts players in control of female or male mercenaries fighting for either the Spartan-controlled Peloponnesian League or the Athenian-controlled Delian League.

The game features various historical figures such as Presidas Archidamus II Hippocrates Pericles Aristophanes Alcibiades Cleon Pius Dagoras Democritus Socrates and Aspasia. The game features Greek mythology and historical sites such as the Athenian Theater Ancient Argolis Athens Agora and the Kefalonian Oak Grove.

Assassins Creed Odyssey also features famous creatures from Greek mythology such as the Minotaur Medusa and the Cyclops. This is a game that emphasizes fun elements through branching quests and multiple-choice dialogue endings. Players can take on the character of Cassandra or Alexia. You can choose the type of protagonist.

The game has an infamous system where mercenaries seek out the player if he commits a crime such as theft. The player character is a descendant of King Leonidas I. Cassandra or Spartan inherits a broken spear that gives the player special abilities in battle.
